MBBS Admission Test for 2024-25 Session Today
The MBBS admission test for the 2024-25 academic session is being held today, Friday (January 17). The exam will take place nationwide from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. This year, 135,261 students have applied to take part in the admission test.

Number of Seats and Competition
There are a total of 5,380 seats available, including quota allocations, across all medical colleges. This means that, on average, 25 students will compete for each seat.

Currently, Bangladesh has 110 medical colleges, categorized as follows:

Government medical colleges: 37
Private medical colleges: 67
Armed Forces Medical College: 1
Private Army Medical Colleges: 5

Admission Process and Guidelines
Admission to government medical colleges is based on merit lists. Students at the top of the list secure seats in the best colleges.

According to the guidelines set by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), candidates taking the MBBS admission test for the second time will face a reduction in marks this year. The passing mark remains at 40, as in previous years.
